The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that it has selected seven airlines to transport Nigerian pilgrims to Hajj 2023.
The selected airlines include Air Peace, Azman Air, Flynas, Aero contractors, Max Air, Arik Air, and Value Jet Air.
While making the disclosure on Friday in Abuja, the chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikirullah Kunle Hassan, disclosed that these airlines were chosen following the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He further stated that the first four airlines will be responsible for transporting pilgrims from the 36 states, FCT, and the armed forces, while Arik and Value jet airlines will provide chartered services to pilgrims traveling through private tour operators.
It was also reiterated that the inaugural flight from Nigeria for Hajj 2023 will depart on May 21, emphasising that Saudi Arabian authorities have allocated 95,000 slots to Nigeria, which is more than double the allocation for last year’s Hajj.
