FG Decries Unregulated Use of Social Media

The Federal Government has decried the unregulated use of social media and other digital platforms worldwide.

Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed was speaking during the welcome session of the global media and information literacy week organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.

The minister noted the need for individuals to be adequately equipped with enough knowledge to manage the information at their disposal.

He said,the programme is not only apt but also timely as our world and its leaders contend with the challenge of identifying what is true and what is false, in view of the use of media and information.
