Gusau, Nov. 14, 2021 (NAN) A member of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Amadu-Maipalace, (APC, Gusau/Tsafe) in Zamfara state, on Sunday, inaugurated the training and disbursement of capital to 1500 youths and women in the constituency.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training was conducted in partnership between the lawmaker’s office and the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP).
Speaking at the inauguration of the training in Gusau, Maipalace said it was aimed to train the participants in the business of tailoring and fashion design.
Represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Nazir Ibrahim Rufa’i, the lawmaker said the event was being implemented under his 2021 empowerment project.
“This is aimed at supporting the unemployed youths and women to participate in various businesses and reduce their dependence on government.
“After the training, each of the participants would be supported with N25,000 as start up capital for the business”, the lawmaker said.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the lawmaker, Mustafa Hassan, said the training would be conducted in five batches.
“Each day a set of 300 beneficiaries comprising youths and women will be trained.
“A total of N37 million will be disbursed to all the 1500 beneficiaries selected from the Gusau and Tsafe local government areas that make up the constituency”, Hassan explained.
Yusuf Ahmad and Aisha Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the lawmaker for supporting them to be self-reliant (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
