National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has warned against the distortion of the recently announced 2023 final Hajj Fare by the Commission, as some States have been announcing fares different from the agreed-upon fare.
The Commission announced that the total Hajj Fare remains less than N3,000,000 (Three million naira), which was inclusive of local charges for all categories of pilgrims under the State Pilgrims Welfare Agencies.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information and Publications, Mousa Ubandawaki, on Wednesday in Abuja, urged all stakeholders to work together in harmony and under a peaceful atmosphere, to avoid any exploitation of the Pilgrims.
The Commission also warned that it will not hesitate to sanction any State (SPWB) that fails to adhere to the agreed-upon fare.
NAHCON emphasised its commitment to the welfare of the pilgrims, ensuring that they have value for their money in terms of the price and facilities they will enjoy during the pilgrimage.
“It is important to note that the financial situation in some States was taken into consideration, and the Commission urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure the success of the Hajj pilgrimage,” the statement reads in part.
