The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service announced that it generated N1.023 trillion in revenue in 2022.

The Controller of Customs for the Apapa Area Command, Malanta Ibrahim Yusuf, made this announcement while providing an overview of the command’s activities for 2022.

This amount represents a 16.07% increase from the N870.4 billion the command collected in the same period in 2021 and is over 35% of the service’s revenue target for the year.

The command also reported processing export cargoes valued at 68.5 million dollars, equivalent to about N28.2 billion, in 2022, primarily from non-oil commodities.

Agricultural products were the most frequently exported items through the Apapa Port, including steel bars, hibiscus, sesame seeds, cocoa, cashew nuts, ginger, soya beans, and mineral products.
