APC Screens Tinubu, Amaechi, 11 Other Presidential Aspirants
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has commenced the screening of its Presidential Aspirants in Abuja.
The screening committee which was inuagurated behind closed doors by the party National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu is headed by former Edo state governor John Odigie -Oyegun.
The former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who came into the venue at about 6.pm in company of the executive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu appeared before the John Odigie-Oyegun-led screening panel.
Tinubu who refused to speak to newsmen before and after the screening like most of the aspirants due to the mammoth crowd that ursherd him into the venue, confidently answered questions bordering on his upbringing, educational and professional background during the screening exercise.
According to a statement by his campaign spokesman Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Bola Tinubu confidently told the panel why he is qualified to fly the flag of the party as its presidential candidate, citing his achievements as governor of Lagos State.
The screening committee however expressed satisfaction with the APC frontline presidential aspirants knowledge of the economy and sociopolitical issues affecting the country.
Other APC Presidential Aspirants screened so far include former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Ameachi, Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Badaru, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, Dr. Tunde Bakare and the only female aspirant Uju Ken-Ohanenye.
Former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba,Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Felix Nicholas, former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Senator Ibikunle Amosu and Senator Sani Yarima Ahmed.
