Australia Reverses Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital
Australia has reversed a decision made four years ago to recognise West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong who disclosed this in a statement said Canberra’s decision in 2018 undermined peace and put Australia out of step with other nations.
She stressed that Australia remains a steadfast friend to Israel, promising its embassy will stay in Tel Aviv.
