Buhari Appoints Emir of Ilorin BUK Chancellor

The Federal Government has announced the appointment of HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, as the new Chancellor of Bayero University in Kano.

The news was conveyed in a letter from the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, dated 11th April, 2023.

As per the letter, the chancellor will hold a position of high regard within the university and will preside over all meetings of Convocation held for the purpose of conferring degrees.

The letter also stated that the investiture ceremony will be held at a specially organised event or at the next convocation of the institution, where the investiture of the Chancellor will take place before the main event.

The appointment of HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR is expected to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role of Chancellor at Bayero University, Kano.

The Chancellor will be presented to the university community and the wider public, where he will be able to provide guidance and support to the university in its ongoing efforts to promote academic excellence and contribute to national development.
