President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a request to the Senate to confirm the nomination of Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The request was contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at the start of the plenary on at the National Assembly.
President Buhari appointed Justice Ariwoola as the acting CJN as a result of the resignation of former Chief Justice Muhammad Tanko on 27th June 2022.
