Crowd in Awe as Rihanna Announces 2nd Pregnancy at Super Bowl Halftime Show
Rihanna, the chart-topping singer and business mogul, made headlines on Sunday as she exited the State Farm Stadium in Arizona following her electrifying Super Bowl LVII halftime performance. The 34-year-old star was accompanied by her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, who was seen cradling their nine-month-old son in his arms.
Rihanna’s appearance at the Super Bowl marked her highly anticipated return to the stage and came with a surprise announcement – the confirmation of her second pregnancy.
The Love on the Brain hitmaker sent social media into a frenzy as she rubbed her baby bump in front of a global audience of millions.
In a historic moment, Rihanna became the first ever pregnant woman to headline a Super Bowl halftime show, and her representative confirmed the news shortly after the performance ended.
The singer was seen leaving the stadium in an all-black outfit, which included a leather jacket, oversized leather pants, and a chic updo. Despite the cold weather, Rihanna appeared in great spirits and smiled at the cameras.
Meanwhile her man showed off his trendy style in a black trench coat, which he paired with an American flag bandana and a black and white hat.
The hip hop star sported a striped collared shirt underneath, along with light denim jeans.
Rocky was also seen sharing a laugh with fellow hip-hop star Jay-Z, 53, who was leaving the bash with his daughter Blue Ivy, 11.
Their baby boy looked adorable in a denim jacket, and sported white socks on his feet.
Rihanna and Rocky have kept their growing family under the radar, and so far neither musician has shared the name of their child.
Rihanna started off the show suspended on a platform high above the field as she belted out her single B**** Better Have My Money. She was dressed in a baggy scarlet jumpsuit that covered up her curves and was strapped loosely on her.
However, she wore a skin-tight bodysuit underneath that highlighted her burgeoning baby bump.
She kept her dancing moves to a minimum while letting the backup dancers pick up the slack.
Rihanna stuck to the hits and didn’t reveal any new songs during her performance, which featured 12 songs.
She had the crowd going wild as she transitioned into Where Have You Been, followed by the hit Only Girl (In The World).
We Found Love, Rude Boy and her hit Work followed, though her collaborator Drake wasn’t featured on the later song. She continued with Wild Thoughts and Pour It Up.
The hitmaker made some controversial song choices, including an excerpt of her verse from the rapper Kanye West’s All Of The Lights, and she also performed part of Jay-Z’s Run This Town, which also featured West in its original version.
Rihanna concluded her performance with the one-two punch of Umbrella and then Diamonds as the closer.
She eschewed some of the pyrotechnics of recent Super Bowl halftime performances and seemingly bet that her fans would be happy to see her without the added theatrics.
