Eid-el-Fitr: NAHCON Boss Calls for Reorientation, Unity

As Muslims worldwide bid farewell to the sacred month of Ramadan and embrace the joyous festivities of Eid al-Fitr, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi OON fwc, the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has urged Muslims to uphold the spirit of reorientation fostered during the holy month.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday to mark Eid-el-Fitr, Arabi reiterated the significance of maintaining the spiritual momentum attained during Ramadan.

“Amid our celebrations, let us not forget the profound lesson of Ramadan – the lesson of reorientation,” stated Arabi, adding that, “Ramadan serves as a period of introspection, discipline, and empathy, guiding us towards positive change.”

Reflecting on the remarkable discipline demonstrated by Muslims during Ramadan, Arabi emphasized, “If Muslims can forgo basic necessities like food and drink for an entire month, it demonstrates the innate adaptability and resilience of mankind. Let us channel this strength towards generosity, empathy, and consideration for others.”

Arabi, while noting the importance of considering the welfare of others, stated that, “Inconsideration can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts, while empathy and generosity foster harmony and prosperity for all.”

Highlighting the need for self-awareness and deliberate self-assessment, the NAHCON boss remarked, “The journey of reorientation begins with recognizing our beliefs, values, and goals. By making conscious efforts to adjust and set clear intentions, we can unlock our full potential and lead lives of meaning and fulfillment.”

Arabi, therefore, extended his wishes for unity, peace, and renewal, stating, “Together, let us strive for harmony, discipline, and compassion, knowing that through perseverance and solidarity, brighter days await all of us as countrymen. Let this day be a celebration of faith, unity, and gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon us. Eid Mubarak.”
