Hajj Institute of Nigeria Sets to Host Summit on 2024 Hajj

The Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN) is set to convene its inaugural national stakeholders’ summit focusing on the 2024 Hajj.

In a statement issued by Mousa Ubandawaki, Deputy Director of Information and Publications at NAHCON on Tuesday, the summit is scheduled to take place from May 2nd to May 3rd, 2024, at the Musa Yar’Adua International Centre, Abuja.

Themed “Partnership, Collaboration, and Teamwork: The Triad of Success for the 2024 Hajj Operation,” the two-day event will assemble prominent figures and experts from the Hajj sector and aviation industry to deliberate on strategies for the seamless execution of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

The summit, sponsored by Lotus Bank, will be declared open by Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima (GCON), with a goodwill message delivered by the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.

Distinguished attendees include Barrister Ezenwo Nyeson Wike, CON, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Festus Keyamo, SAN, FCIA, Minister of Aviation.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by esteemed speakers, including His Excellency, Dr. Hassan Manakhra, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, responsible for International Collaboration; Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Al-Ghamidy, the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria; Prof. Salisu Shehu; Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs; Hon. Jafaru Mohammed Ali, Chairman, House Committee on Hajj Affairs; the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila; and Kafayat Araoye, Managing Director of Lotus Bank.

Expected participants encompass Chief Executives of States Pilgrims Welfare Boards/Commissions/Agencies from the 36 States, the FCT, and the Armed Forces; Private Tour Operators; Ulamas; Medical professionals; members of the media; representatives from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA); Airliners; and Service Providers. The agenda will address pertinent topics aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to Nigerian pilgrims during this year’s Holy Pilgrimage.
