IGP Egbetokun Deploys DIG, 17 CPs to Strategic Police Commands

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, has ordered the deployment of a Deputy Inspector-General of Police and 17 Commissioners of Police to key departments, commands and formations across the country, in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and enhancing operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, and shared on the official X handle of the Nigeria Police Force, the deployments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition the Force for improved public safety and service delivery.
Hundeyin said the IGP approved the redeployment to “strengthen operational capacity, promote effective leadership, enhance public safety and improve service delivery across the Force.”
Under the new arrangement, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been posted to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID), a strategic unit responsible for intelligence gathering and analysis critical to crime prevention and national security.
Among the state command postings, CP Aina Adesola has been deployed to the Delta State Police Command, while CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia will take charge of the Kebbi State Police Command. CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor has also been posted to head the Bayelsa State Police Command.
Other senior officers redeployed to specialised units and strategic formations include CP Osagie John Agans-Irabor, who will serve at the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos, and CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola, posted to the Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja.
CP Adepegba K. Adetoye has been assigned to the Marine Unit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, while CP Tabitha Bako and CP Umar Ali Fagge have been appointed Deputy Commandants at the Police Colleges in Kaduna and Ikeja, respectively.
In further postings, CP Audu Garba Bosso will oversee General Investigation at the FCID Annex in Kaduna, while CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha has been deployed to the Community Policing Department at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi has been posted to the Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters.
Others include CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo, Maritime Command, Lagos; CP Samuel Yerima, Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos; CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi, X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; and CP Richard Bala Gara, Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters.
Also redeployed are CP Lasisi A. Titilola to the Railway Command, Lagos, and CP Obuagbaka C. John to the Safer Highway Unit, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP charged the newly deployed officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new assignments, stressing the need for result-oriented leadership, professionalism and integrity.
He further urged them to uphold ethical standards and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
