The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has attributed the unstable electricity supply in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to insufficient power allocation by generation stations.

AEDC’s management stated in a press release in Abuja that due to limited energy allocation, load curtailment directives had to be implemented across its franchise to manage the situation for grid stability.

In the statement, AEDC acknowledged the inconvenience caused to its customers by the unstable power supply and assured them of its commitment to minimising the impact of the outage.

The company also pledged to keep its customers in the affected areas updated on the situation and provide necessary information as it becomes available.

“We would like to inform that we are aware of the unstable power supply, experienced in recent days, essentially caused by insufficient power. We understand that this may cause inconveniences to our customers, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that the impact of the outage is minimised. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time,” the company said.
