The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Al-Ghamidy, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Embassy of the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia in Abuja.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between the two entities, as stated by Fatima Sanda Usara, the Assistant Director of Public Affairs of the Commission.

Usara said Malam Arabi expressed gratitude for the consistent support received under the diplomatic umbrella of the Saudi Embassy, highlighting the longstanding cordial relationship between NAHCON and the Saudi Embassy.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions, recognizing the importance of their partnership in facilitating the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Malam Arabi conveyed appreciation for the continuous support provided by the Saudi Embassy, emphasizing its significant contribution to the success of Hajj operations.

In a joint commitment to enhance efficiency and collaboration, both parties agreed to streamline working relations, aiming to simplify processes and expedite activities for pilgrims and stakeholders.

These efforts are expected to create a more conducive environment for effective communication and coordination, benefiting the thousands of pilgrims undertaking the sacred Hajj journey.

In another development, NAHCON announced its impending conclusion of investigations into complaints received in response to its call for petitions against any Private Tour Operators approved to convey pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj under the private sector.

This decision follows the temporary suspension of Hajj slot allocations to tour operators on December 13, showcasing NAHCON’s dedication to fairness and equity.
