NAHCON Mourns Death of Sheikh Gero Argungu, Commiserates With Family

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has extended its condolences to the family of the late Sheikh Abubakar Gero Argungu, who passed away on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023.
In a condolence letter personally signed by the Chairman/CEO, Alh. Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the Commission described the late cleric as a renowned scholar and a Da’wah activist who will be greatly missed by the Muslim Ummah.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our beloved scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Gero Argungu, on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023. We accept this loss with profound sorrow, submitting to the Will of Almighty Allah,” the statement reads.
“Sheikh Argungu was undeniably a distinguished scholar and Da’wah activist, not only in his home state of Kebbi but throughout Nigeria.
“We acknowledge his significant contributions and selfless services to Kebbi state pilgrims and the entire Nigerian pilgrim community.
“We beseech Almighty Allah to forgive him, elevate his status among the guided, place him among the righteous who came before, enlarge his resting place, and illuminate his path in aljanat firdaus. Amen.”
“On behalf of the management and staff of the Commission, we offer our heartfelt condolences to his entire family, the Jama’atul Izalatil Bid’ah Wal” Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), and the Muslim Ummah at large.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants all the strength to bear this profound loss. Amen.”
