NAHCON Warns Against Viral Fraudulent Recruitment Messages

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a cautionary alert regarding a wave of fraudulent messages targeting Muslim intending pilgrims and medical team applicants.

According to a statement released by the Commission’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, on Thursday, misleading messages claiming recruitment for various roles within NAHCON, particularly as full-time officers or medical team members, are currently circulating.

Usara emphasized that NAHCON is not engaged in any recruitment drives for full-time officers or other staff positions at present, contrary to the deceptive messages being circulated.

She clarified, “The authentic application process for the Hajj medical team is exclusively conducted through the official portal and is still ongoing,” adding, “The Commission urges the public to disregard any alternative communication channels and rely solely on information from the official NAHCON portal.”

NAHCON further stressed that it never solicits money from applicants during the recruitment process, emphasizing that the application is free of charge, advising any requests for payment should be viewed as fraudulent.

She added that while NAHCON is actively pursuing those responsible for disseminating deceitful messages, they urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Usara concluded the statement by reaffirming, “Please note that NAHCON is not currently recruiting any category of officers, and any messages suggesting such recruitment are false.”

She directed prospective applicants for the Hajj medical team to visit the official NAHCON portal at nigeriahajjcom.gov.ng for authentic information and application procedures.
