Suicide Bomber Attacks Indonesian Police Station, Kills 1, Injures Many
According to police, a suspected Islamic militant suicide bomber killed a police officer and injured ten others in an attack on a police station in the Indonesian city of Bandung on Wednesday.
Agus Sujatno, 34, was linked to the pro-Islamic State group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah JAD and had already served four years in a maximum security prison for his involvement in a 2017 bombing, according to police.The explosion happened around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Astana Anyar police station in Bandung.
Police said they discovered paper messages attached to the attacker’s blue motorcycle.
The messages criticized Indonesian criminal law, specifically a recently passed amendment to the criminal code.
