Yobe North: APC Says Ahmad Lawan Remains Its Candidate

The ruling All progressive congress, APC says Senate President Ahmad Lawan remains its candidate for the Yobe North Senatorial district in the 2023 poll.

APC’s position came against the backdrop of the decision by Lawan not to appeal the ruling by the Yobe federal high court which upheld the candidacy of Alhaji Bashir Machina as the party candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District in the 2023 poll.

The APC Chairman of the Yobe State chapter, Mohammed Gadaka in a statement disclosed that the Party will challenge the court decision.

The Party noted that Senator Ahmad Lawan, is the bonafide APC candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District election, as recognised by the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee of the APC adding that it rejects the decision of the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, accepting the judgment of the court which disqualified his candidature and participation in the election.
