In a notable gesture of recognition, the Chairman and CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, OON, fwc, has honoured Hajara Ibrahim Dan’azumi with the 2024 Hajj Seat.

This honour comes in celebration of her remarkable feat at the 18th Edition of the Hashemite Jordan International Qur’anic Competition for Females, held from February 17th to 22nd, 2024, in Jordan.

Hosted annually by the Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places of Jordan, the competition witnessed Hajara’s exceptional performance, securing her the first-place position in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid category, outshining contestants from various countries.

Hajara, a 19-year-old student of Abubakar Siddiq Community Islamic School, Gombe, and a 200 Level student of Botany at Gombe State University, garnered widespread acclaim for achieving an impressive score of 99.5%.

In a statement released by the Commission on Friday through Fatima Sanda Usara, its Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Arabi expressed his delight, stating, “We congratulate Hajara Ibrahim Dan’azumi, the first prize winner at the 18th Edition of the Hashemite Jordan International Qur’anic Competition for Females.”

Usara emphasized the significance of Hajara’s achievement, noting, “The NAHCON Chairman’s recognition of Hajara’s performance is consistent with his commitment to rewarding hard work and excellence.

“It is Malam Arabi’s belief that acknowledging such accomplishments will inspire others to strive for similar success while upholding the values of Islam.”
